The Cost of Indiscretion (Genesis 16:1-16)

My son, if you accept my words    and store up my commands within you, turning your ear to wisdom    and applying your heart to understanding—indeed, if you call out for insight    and cry aloud for understanding, and if you look for it as for silver    and search for it as for hidden treasure, then you will understand the fear of the Lord    and find the knowledge of God…He holds success in store for the upright,    he is a shield to those whose walk is blameless. He did this to demonstrate his…

Abraham Rescues Lot (Genesis 14:1-24)

But thanks be to God, who always leads us as captives in Christ’s triumphal procession and uses us to spread the aroma of the knowledge of him everywhere.  For we are to God the pleasing aroma of Christ among those who are being saved and those who are perishing.  To the one we are an aroma that brings death; to the other, an aroma that brings life. And who is equal to such a task?  2 Corinthians 2:14-16 Sermon Notes
