Turning Back to God (Jonah 1:17-2:10)

Have mercy on me, O God,     according to your unfailing love; according to your great compassion     blot out my transgressions. Wash away all my iniquity     and cleanse me from my sin. For I know my transgressions,     and my sin is always before me. Against you, you only, have I sinned     and done what is evil in your sight; so you are right in your verdict     and justified when you judge. The Tempest (Jonah 1:4-17)

God is our refuge and strength,     an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way     and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam     and the mountains quake with their surging.

Choices (Jonah 1:1-3)

We know that we have come to know him if we keep his commands.  Whoever says, “I know him,” but does not do what he commands is a liar, and the truth is not in that person.  But if anyone obeys his word,love for God is truly made complete in them. This is how we know we are in him:  Whoever claims to live in him must live as Jesus did. 1 John 2:3-6
